Ralph Samuel Bruno Obituary
Ralph Samuel Bruno, age 81, went to join Our Lord on Saturday, January 5, 2013. He was born in Erie on February 7, 1931, son of the late James and Mary Luchetta Bruno. Ralph graduated from Erie Technical School in 1949 and received a B.A. in Education from Gannon College in 1959. He worked at Marx Toys and Andover Industries for 25 years each. He served in the US Army, 32nd Field Artillery, in Germany from 1951-1954. Ralph was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church for over 50 years and served on both the Men's and Parish Council. He was a talented amateur magician, had an uncanny ability to rebuild or repair anything and enjoyed listening to jazz music. His true passion and purpose, however, was his lifelong commitment to the health, prosperity and happiness of his wife, children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Sophie Wodarski Bruno; three daughters, Elizabeth Gawronski and her husband, Steven, of Rochester NY, Kathryn Grisier and her husband, Douglas, of Erie and Gerri Lynn Piecuch and her husband, Marius, of Erie; and two sons, James Bruno and his wife, Ann, of Erie and Robert Bruno and his fiancé, Sharon Byers, of Erie. He is further survived by his thirteen grandchildren, Kristen and Catherine Gawronski, Matthew and Kevin Grisier, Maria and Emily Piecuch, Mallory, Ryan, Casey, Joshua and Benjamin Bruno, and Connor and Morgan Byers. He is also survived by his sister, Connie Ratajczak and two brothers, Mickey (Domenick) and James Bruno. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, Inc., 2502 Sassafras St., Erie, PA, 16502 on Wednesday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m., and are invited to attend a funeral service there on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:00 a.m. The Blessed Sacrament Ushers will recite the Rosary on Wednesday evening at 6:45 p.m. Send condolences to www.kloeckerfuneralhome.com .
