Robert E. "Mick" Monahan, age 83, of Erie, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Erie on January 30, 1930 a son of the late Thomas and Margaret McEnery Monahan. Mick graduated from Strong Vincent High School, Penn State University and received his Master's Degree in Economics from Gannon University. He was in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954. He was the Co-Owner of Monahan and Monahan and was also a retired Accounting Professor from Penn State Erie, the Behrend College. He was a member of the Erie Maennerchor Club, the Erie Club, Treasurer for Books for Kids and a 40-year member of P.I.C.P.A. He is preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Monahan, and two brothers, Thomas and Jack Monahan. He is survived by his wife, Mary "Connie" Kennedy Monahan; two daughters, Megan Monahan of Erie and Molly Lang and her husband Brandon of Bloomsburgh, Pa.; two sons, Matthew Monahan and his wife Lynette of Indianapolis, Ind., and Michael Monahan and his wife Valerie of Youngstown, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Jason, Kara, Maggie, Patrick, Adam, Sarah, and Nathan; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
