Owner/Operator of Peterson Towing for 44 years Robert L. "Pete" Peterson, 67, of Erie, died unexpectedly Thurs., Feb. 28, 2013 at UPMC Passavant, Cranberry Twp., Pa. He was born Aug. 17, 1945 in Philipsburg, Pa. son of the late Leirwyn and Stella Mock Peterson. He graduated from Philipsburg High School and was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U.S. Army. He owned and operated Peterson's Towing in Erie for 44 years. Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca Anderson of Cary, N.C.; two grandchildren; and his dear friend, Jeff K. Cornelius and wife Kathy of Waterford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Margaret H. Peterson; and his fiancé, Kathleen A. Gelotti Dalton in 2011. Friends may call Thursday 4 to 7 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St., and are invited to services there Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Roy P. Washill of St. John's Lutheran Church will officiate. Inurnment will be at Erie Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Erie-Crawford county burial detail..
