Robert W. Hubert, age 81, of Millcreek, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Erie on July 20, 1932, a son of the late Urban and Mildred (Chellis) Hubert.

Robert served in the U.S. Navy for four years, during the Korean War. While working as a manager with G.C. Murphy Company for 35 years, he served as president of the West Erie Plaza Association. He later became a manager at Big Lots, for 18 years. Then, after one week of retirement, began working for Quality Markets, where he remained for another 18 years.

As a 40 year member of Saint Jude the Apostle Church, he served as a Eucharist Minister, Lector, and member of Parish Council. He was on the board of the Cerebral Palsy Association, participated in the "Hooked on Books" program, and was a member of the Presque Isle Rotary Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Urb Hubert, sister-in-law, Jean Hubert, brothers-in-law, Ed Wygant and Harry Albertson, niece Julie Slomski, and his beautiful ballerina, his granddaughter, Kare Bear.

Robert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley (Albertson) Hubert; a son; his two loving twin daughters, Mary and Michelle; son-in-law, Michael Carnegie; his pride and joy, his grandchildren, Amber, Kelsey, Tyler and Brianna.

We would like to thank Anne Lang, Fr. John Detisch, Michele of Loving Hearts Home Care, and Kristen, John, Audrey and Vidia of Heartland Hospice, for making Bob's final days peaceful.
