Ronald "Scott" Hess, age 46, of Erie passed away peacefully surrounded by family at UPMC Hamot on April 15, 2013 following an extended illness. Born in Erie on November 14, 1966 he was the son of Mary Therese Sinnott Hess "Terry" and the late Ronald Charles Hess. Scott was a 1985 graduate of Fairview High School and he attended Lock Haven University. He was formerly employed at PHB in Fairview. Scott's main loves in life were his beautiful daughter, Maggie and his family. As a young man he was a natural athlete in football, baseball and basketball and his love for sports continued throughout his life. Scott had a gift of humor always making others laugh; a charming smile and dimples that warmed your heart. In addition to his mother, Terry, Scott is survived by his daughter; Maggie Lyn Hess; two sisters; Dr. Kimberly Hess-Glover and her husband, Dr. Patrick Glover and their children, Rylee and Madison of Fairview and Shelly Daubenspeck and her husband, Gregg, and their children, Bree and Paige of Millcreek. Scott is further survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and his former wife, Karen Hess. The family would like to extend a Special Thank You to UPMC Hamot medical staff, Father John Murphy, Chaplain who took great care of Scott as well as Davita-Erie Dialysis Staff. The family will greet friends at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street at Powell Avenue on Friday from 3 p.m. until the time of services at 7 p.m. with Pastor Jim Hodge officiating.
