Rosolino Coniglio, 90, passed away peacefully at his home in Manchester Commons on Monday, July 15, 2013 surrounded by his family and close friend.
He was born April 20, 1923 in Oriskany, N.Y., the son of the late Phillip and Josephine (Lombino) Coniglio. A native of Rome, N.Y., he moved to Erie, Pa. in 1965.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II
as a radio operator.
After returning home from the war, he married the love of his life, Mary T. (Tuzzolino), on September 27, 1947 in Rome, N.Y. and they celebrated over 60 years together.
Ross retired from the Kmart Corporation in 1982 where he had been an Assistant Manager, working with the company for over 35 years. After retirement, he moved to Spanish Lake Retirement Community in Florida where he resided for 20 years and still kept many close friends.
A member of St. John the Evangelist Church and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he enjoyed cooking and was a friend to all.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, on January 22, 2009; a son, Philip; and a brother, Joseph.
His survivors include one daughter, JoAnn (David) Faulkner of Girard, Pa.; four grandchildren, Kelly Faulkner, Brennan (Debbie) Faulkner, Kyle Coniglio and Casey Coniglio; two great-grandchildren, Collin and Meah Faulkner; two brothers, Francis and Anthony; one sister, Angelina Gotti; sister-in-laws, Eleanor Coniglio and Antoinette Tuzzolino; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Parish, 101 Olin Avenue, Girard, Pa. Fr. William C. Miller will preside. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, Ohio.
A visiting time will be Thursday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service.
