Ruth L. Strauser Dean, 90, of Erie, passed away Jan. 4, 2013. She was born Nov. 10, 1922, in Lewistown, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Earl and Verda Strauser. She was preceded in death by one brother The Rev. William Strauser of Marion, Iowa and one daughter Stephanie Sherman of Titusville. She was a member of Episcopal Cathedral of Saint Paul in Erie. She is survived by her husband John A. Dean, two daughters Sharon Dunfee of Meadville and Virginia Brocki and her husband Vincent of Erie, one grandchild Christopher Sherman of Pittsburgh, Pa., and two great grandchildren Tyler and Bailey Woods of Meadville, and the mother Lisa Woods of Meadville. No calling hours were observed and burial was private. Memorials may be made to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwestern Pa., 1507 Grimm Dr., Erie, PA 16501.
