William R. "Bill" Balos Obituary
William "Bill" R. Balos, age 81, left this earth to live eternal life on July 30, 2018 following an extended illness. He left this life peacefully at Ball Pavillion in Harborcreek, Pa. He was born in Erie, Pa., on October 28, 1936, to the late Emil and Stella Balos.

Bill graduated from East High School, and served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1957. Bill was a salesman all of his life at several companies and owned a small convenience store later in life. His true passion was boating on Lake Erie. He spent many hours on the lake on his prized possession "Seventh Heaven." He enjoyed spending time with friends and family and always had a smile.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Manendo; and his brothers, Tom and Jerry Balos.

Bill is survived by his five children, Ann Marie Ernst (Todd), Thomas Balos (Peggy), Kathryn Nusbaum (Robert), Debra Balos (Stacey) and Lynette Will (Robert); as well as 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins, many of whom reached out to him in his final days and provided such joy during a difficult time.

A special thank you to all the staff and caregivers at UPMC Hamot, The Regional Cancer Center, Ball Pavillion, and Hospice who provided guidance, comfort and care.
