Fred Kitchen, 69, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at St. Vincent Health Center, surrounded by his children, following a lengthy illness. Fred was born on October 7, 1943, in Williamsport, Md., to Willis G. and Betty Kitchen, both of Williamsport, Md. Throughout his life, Fred worked as an executive at West Penn Power and Overly Manufacturing in Greensburg, Pa., and most recently as a technician at the Driver License Center in Erie, Pa. He was a loving grandfather who loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed cars, baseball, and feeding the ducks while watching the sunset on Erie's Bayfront. He was preceded in death by two infant daughters and his brother, Alan. He is survived by his children, Todd (Lisa), of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Tom (Sara) of North East and Amelia (Mike) of Wellsville, N.Y. He is also survived by his parents, brothers and sisters Ellis Kitchen (Frederick, Md.), Tim Kitchen (Hagerstown, Md.), Eric Kitchen (Cumberland, Md.), Susie Kitchen (Hagerstown, Md.), and Beth Burtner (Knoxville, Tenn.). Additionally, he is survived by his four granddaughters, Analiese, Lily, Adeline and Lucy, and several uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews.
