Wilma Nina Eccles Newton Mulson

Wilma Nina Eccles Newton Mulson, age 85, passed away peacefully Tuesday April 26, 2011. Daughter of Blanche and Clair Newton of Kennedy N.Y., and beloved wife of William E. Mulson, whom she married on March 27, 1948. Originally from Kennedy N.Y., she attended Falconer school district and later completed her studies as a cosmetologist. After marriage, she raised her family in Ripley and worked for 32 years at Worster Motor Line as a bookkeeper in Northeast Pa. Additionally, she ran a beauty shop out of her home. She prided herself as being a member of the Eastern Star since 1961 and served as Matron. She was an avid card player, loved playing bingo, enjoyed knitting and reading. Over the years she and her husband traveled extensively throughout the USA and enjoyed an anniversary with her family in Europe. They also enjoyed hunting and fishing together. This year marked their 63rd wedding anniversary. She had a great love for her husband, her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. For many years there were family gatherings at "Grandma's house" during the holidays and her love and generosity was immeasurable. Wilma leaves behind her loving husband William, her children Bonnie (Art) Wright (Ripley), Barbara (John) Hamels (Ripley), Danny Mulson (Pascoag R.I.), and Douglas (Caroline) Mulson, 11 grandchildren; Michael Wright, Shelly Wright, Matthew (Katie) Wright, Scott (Luisa) Hamels, Shaun (Emily) Hamels, Stephanie Hamels (Jordan Dowd), Justin (Brittany) Hamels, Tresina (George) Guertin, Timothy (Tracy) Mulson, Jacqueline Mulson (Charles Simpson), Jeremiah Mulson, and ten great-granddaughters; Summer Nichols, Ember Ferry, Sage Ferry, Kyla Hamels, Nicole Hamels, Justin Hamels, Shyan Theberge, Lexie Guertin, Ava Mulson, and Sophia Simpson. She is preceded in death by four sisters, three brothers, and her parents. Viewing hours will be on Thursday April 28th from 7-9, and Friday April 29th 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be held Saturday April 30th at 11 a.m. at the Mathews Funeral Home. Interment will be held private at the request of the family. Arrangements by Mathews Funeral Home, 104 West Main Street, Ripley, N.Y.
