One in a Million Joel D. "Joey" Learn, age 52, of Erie, was called home to Heaven on Monday, April 9, 2012. He was born in Colver, Pa. on June 1, 1959, son of the late Boyd E., Sr. and Viola M. Learn. Joel was affiliated with the Barber National Institute and worked at the Workshop Program where he was known for his excellent work ethic and charismatic personality. He was affectionately known as "Drummer" and enjoyed coloring, doing puzzles, latch hooking, photography, "Alabama", music, Disney, sunglasses, his Walkman and headphones. Joel is survived by four sisters, Nancy Mularz (Joe) of Appleton, N.Y., Edith Thomas (Mark) of Halstead, Pa., Virginia "Ginny" Shaffer (Val) of Raleigh, N.C. and Joyce Wilkinson (Dale) of Erie; three brothers, Jess Learn, Thomas Learn (Tina) and Boyd Learn, Jr. (Karen) all of Erie; many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to all the people at the Barber National Institute and all others who enriched his life. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Saturday at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev.
