An avid gardener Michael J. Pruzenski, 79 of Erie died Thursday April 12, 2012 at Pleasant Ridge Manor East. He was born on June 3, 1932 in Erie, son of the late Michael and Rose Donikowski Pruzenski. Michael graduated from Tech Memorial High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Inland Container after 43 years of service as a General Foreman, and was a member of Holy Rosary Church. Michael loved planting flowers and vegetables, and he was very proud of his garden. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandson. He was preceded in death by his first born son Gary M. Pruzenski. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Joan Waskiewicz Pruzenski, sons Glen J. Pruzenski of Waterford, and Gordon J. Pruzenski and wife Stephanie of Erie, two grandchildren Justin & Lauren Pruzenski and one great grandson Jayden Pruzenski, brother Ray Pruzenski and wife Bea, and sisters Florence Duchnowski, and Rose Marie Pacuraw and husband John. Friends may call at the Carl A. Slomski & Son Funeral Home Inc. 2101 Ash St. on Sunday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. & 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and may attend a service there Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Rosary Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
