John A. Oshlick, age 87, passed away at his residence in Wesleyville on April 13, 2012. He was born in Adrian, Pa. on June 27, 1924, son of the late John and Ann Lesko Oshlick. John graduated from St. Adrian High School, Class of 1942. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was the recipient of the Silver Star Medal for bravery in action. John had lived in the Erie area since 1952. John was employed with A.O. Smith for 27 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. James R.C. Church. John was an avid fisherman, hunter, and enjoyed the family camp in Warren Co. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ann Oshlick; three sons, John F. Oshlick (Ann) of Erie, Richard G. Oshlick (Jan) of Harborcreek, and James R. Oshlick (Christie) of Lawrence Park; one sister, Dorothy Blayer of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Klein; and two brothers, Steven and William Oshlick. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Tuesday at 12:45 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James R.C. Church at 1:15 p.m. Interment, Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. A full military service will be conducted by the Erie Crawford County Veterans Burial Detail at the cemetery.
