Celia Clara Tatara Prezwicki, age 97, a resident of Fairview Manor, passed away April 9, 2012 at UPMC Hamot. She was born July 11, 1914 in Uniontown, Pa., the daughter of the late Ludwig and Mary Wujcik Tatara. She was employed at Marx Toys and as a cook at a number of popular Erie restaurants as well as Villa Maria College and Mercyhurst College cafeterias. Celia also worked as a cook at St. John's Parish in Girard, Pa. Besides her parents, Celia was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. Prezwicki, and her son, Leroy M. Preston, as well as her brothers, Alex, Tony, John, Edward, Leo and Stanley Tatara, and her sisters, Genevieve Tatara, Helen Tatara Palermo, Sr. Sylvia Therese Tatara CSFN, and Sr. Ruth Tatara CSFN. Celia is survived by her son, Arthur E. Preston, and his wife Barbara, her daughter, Elaine V. Preston and her husband, Kenneth Isaacson, her brother, Joseph Tatara and his wife Pauline, her sister, Sophie Tatara Ott, her sister-in-law Sophie Tatara, her brther-in-law, Joseph Palermo, and daughter-in-law, Carol Ann and Georgene. Celia is also survived by five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A service with burial in Trinity Cemetery will be private. The Carl A. Slomski & Son Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Ash, is handling arrangements.
