Mary Jane Ford, age 70, of Erie, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Edinboro Manor after a long illness. She was born in Lake City, June 28, 1941, a daughter of the late Merle and Marion Davis Payne. Mary Jane was a lifelong resident of Erie. She married Paul Harrold Ford January 10, 1959 and he preceded her in death on October 28, 1986. She was an avid crafter, jewelry maker, and enjoyed painting t-shirts and designing flower arrangements. She loved spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with her best friend, Judy Brandt, cooking, baking and canning. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Paul, Mary Jane was preceded in death by two children, Paul Earl and Mercy Lynn Ford; a grandchild, Santana Mae Ford; and two sisters, Fern Jarviane and Annie Boggs. Mary Jane is survived by her son, Joseph Donald Ford of Wilkesboro, N.C.; her daughters, Joyce Ann Elliott of Columbiana, Ohio and Ella Mae Ford of Rainesville, Ala. Ten grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, a sister, Arlene Chaney of Erie and several nieces and nephews also survive. Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street, Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service there at 1:00 p.m. Private entombment at Erie County Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
