Anna Mae (Remo) Tomlin, age 85, of Erie was called to Heaven on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. She was born February 11, 1927 in the Pittsburgh, Pa. area the daughter of the late Carl and Thelma Chelpanoff Remo. Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she lived her life surrounded by her family. Anna Mae was a member of the Russian Orthodox Church of the Nativity and also the C.Y.S. club. In her youth she enjoyed bowling. A longtime resident of Erie, she enjoyed the beaches, picnics, fishing, and gatherings with family and friends. Anna Mae had worked at the US Postal Service, Lovell Manufacturing, Sears, and Rite Aid drug stores. Her greatest joys in her life were her husband, her children, the grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and she thoroughly loved to follow the activities and lives of her large family. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Sylvester "Serf" Tomlin, a daughter, Janice Jajewski and two sisters; Miriam Ewasik and Nancy Miller. Anna Mae is survived by a daughter Laurie Perschka and her husband Jim of Erie and three sons; Gary Tomlin and his wife Mary of Harborcreek; Mark Tomlin and his wife Dorian of Erie and Kevin Tomlin of Erie. She is the sister of Violet Ring of San Antonio, Texas and is also survived by 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call at the Russian Orthodox Church of the Nativity, 251 East Front St. Wednesday from 1-4 & 6-9 p.m. and are invited to attend Funeral Services there Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in St. John the Divine Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Church's Endowment Fund. Arrangements by the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St.
