Helen F. Tonty passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at the age of 75. She was born on December 20, 1936 in Erie. She was the daughter of the late Casmir F. and Helen M. (Kuligowski) Dworak. Helen cherished her family and faith, especially spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as her sisters. She enjoyed watching her children play sports, attending family functions, playing bingo, taking rides to Geneva on the Lake, and around Presque Isle. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frederick A. Tonty and a sister, Maryanne Dworak. Survivors include twin siblings, Pamela J. Tonty and Frederick A. Tonty, Jr., whose wife is Tracy, both of Erie; grandchildren, Timothy James "TJ" Soliwoda and Nicole Marie Tonty; a great-grandson, Caleb Wodarski; and sisters, Jane M. Dworak and Irene Macer, whose husband is Chester. Friends and family may call Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Brugger Funeral Homes and Crematory, LLP, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38th St., and are invited to a service there Satuyrday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
