Roger W. Robinson, 74, of Cambridge Springs, Pa., formerly of Union City, Pa., went to be with the Lord, Friday, April 13, 2012. He died at home after fighting courageously with Lou Gehrig's disease. He was born July 2, 1937, in Erie, Pa., the son of the late William and Erma (Soety) Robinson. He married Elizabeth (Betsy) Mathias on September 27, 1969. He attended East High School in Erie, Pa. and joined the Air Force, serving his country for four years. He was employed by Lord Corporation, Cambridge Springs, Pa. for 35 years as a supervisor/inspector, and was a member of the Cambridge Springs Presbyterian Church for many years where he served as a trustee. In his spare time, he was an avid woodworker-carpenter and also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and model trains. Also much of his time was spent enjoying his four grandsons. In addition to his wife of 42 years, he is survived by his five children and his six grandchildren, Brian and Jerry Robinson, both of Lompoc, Calif., Lynnae Still and her husband, Chris, and their two children, Tryston and Colin of Lompoc, Calif., Jennifer Shaffer and her husband, Ken, and their two children, Ryan and Morgan of Cambridge Springs, Pa., and Amy Jones and her husband, Jim, and their two children, Austin and Jacob of Cambridge Springs, Pa.; a brother-in-law, Paul Vamos; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the First United Presbyterian Church of Cambridge Springs, 338 South Main Street, with a luncheon following. The family has suggested that memorial tributes may be made to the Aseracare Hospice, Suite 14, 1600 Peninsula Drive, Erie, PA 16505 or to the First Presbyterian Church, 338 South Main Street, Cambridge Springs, PA 16403. The Robert M. Glenn Funeral Home, Inc., 62 South Main Street, Union City, PA is handling arrangements.
