James R. Merski, age 67, of Erie, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at UPMC Hamot. He was born on July 21, 1944, son of the late Joseph H. and Marie Conley Merski. He was an avid artist and loved hiking over much of the United States. He was proceeded in death by his brother, Joseph D. Merski. He is survived his brothers David (Susan), William Merski, sisters Mrs. Maryann Ekelund, Mrs. Judy (James) Hain Ms. Kathleen Merski, Mrs. Cheryl (Mark) Webster of Minneapolis, Minn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his lifelong friend George Reitz and family. A Christian memorial mass was held Monday, April 23rd at Saint Patrick Roman Catholic in Erie.
