Floyd W. (Chris) Christianson, age 83, of Erie, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Forest View Nursing Home. Born in Highland Park, Ill, he was the son of Opal Sterling Christianson of Cedarburg, Wis., and the late William Christianson. He graduated from Shorewood High School in Milwaukee, and the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served as a Major in the U.S. Army during Korea. He came to Erie from Milwaukee, and was a mechanical engineer for American Sterilizer, now STERIS for 28 years. While living in Milwaukee, he worked for TL Smith Concrete and George Meyer Company. Chris was a member of Wayside Presbyterian Church, Lawrence Lodge No. 708 F. & A.M. where he was a Past Master, Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Erie and Zem Zem Temple Shrine. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Christianson and his mother. Survivors include his wife Doris Neidner Christianson; a son David Christianson and his wife Sarah of Dallas; two daughters, Susan Derting and her husband David of Portland, Ore., Cheryl Yount and her husband Wes of Charlotte, N.C.; seven grandchildren and a brother, Norman Christianson and his wife Diane of Cedarburg, Wis. Friend may call at Wayside Presbyterian Church 1208 Asbury Road Erie, Pa 16505 on Saturday May 19, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie PA 16505.
