Jane Pomorski, 92, entrepreneur, polka, pinochle and game enthusiast, champion Wii bowler, knitter, crocheter, devoted wife and mother and friend to all died peacefully on April 30, 2012 at Brevillier Village. Jane was a lifelong Erie resident with a summer home on Lake Erie in Ripley N.Y. Jane graduated from Academy High School in 1937 and was the owner of Jane Rita Beauty Salon and Bayview Beverage. She was a proud member of the Crazy Hatters, a knitting charity for cancer patients. Jane's major accomplishments include a sixty-six year marriage to her wonderful husband, Anthony (Tony), they can be remembered spinning around the dance floor in their red polka clothes touring with the Slomski Orchestra and the Federowicz tours. Her children include Cynthia Adams, John Pomorski (deceased) married to Charlene, Patty Rich, and Tony Pomorski married to Cindy; eleven grandchildren, Paula (deceased), Marie Sprague married to Patrick, AJ Pomorski, Elisabeth, married to Rupert Gara-Dyke, Madeline Adams, Rebecca Adams Thorne married to Simon, Jennifer and Bert Richnafsky, Thomas, Anthony and Catherine Pomorski, and four great-grandchildren, Bethany Bennett, daughter to Paula, Rachel and Justine, daughters to Marie, and Jackson, son to Rebecca. Jane was born July 10, 1919 in Erie, Pa. She was the daughter of Gladys Dziegielewski, descendant of Polish nobility and Anthony Swinarski married at Holy Rosary Church, Wyszyny Koscielene Poland. She was an active member of Holy Rosary Church in Erie for over 75 years. Her generosity, affability, smile, devotion to family will be greatly missed. Friends may call at the Carl A. Slomski & Son Funeral Home Inc. 2101 Ash on Thursday only 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. No calling hours will be observed on Friday.
