Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather Raymond F. Kosienski Sr. - Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather - age 77, of McKean, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Millcreek Community Hospital after a long illness. Born in McKean Township on December 23, 1934, he was a son of the late Frank and Antonia Kosienski. A lifelong resident of McKean, Ray grew up there and graduated from McKean High School. He entered the United States Army in 1957 and was stationed in Germany until 1959. He remained in the Army Reserves until 1963. On October 8, 1960, Ray married Patricia Ann Falkowski, and for over 30 years, he worked as a tool and die maker for General Electric, Niagara Plastics, and Triangle Tool Company, where he retired from in 1992. Ray was a devoted husband, and he loved his children and grandchildren very much. His best times were being at home on his property or at his camp in Scandia, Pa., and cutting wood, hunting, fishing or trapping. He was skilled at repairing small engines and would often find himself helping his friends and family with their repairs. Ray also enjoyed working on his old tractors and his 1960 Chevy. As a member of the McKean community, Ray was a lifelong member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and St. Francis Ushers Club. Family members that preceded him in death include two brothers, Walter and Edward Kosienski; and two sisters, Loretta Danylko and Helen Ore. Survivors include his wife of almost 52 years, Patricia Ann Falkowski Kosienski; four children, Raymond Kosienski Jr. of McKean, Ronald Kosienski of Erie and his fiancée Susan Bowser, Richard Kosienski and his wife Lori of McKean, and Diann Kosienski of Harborcreek and her fiancé Jeffrey Fiske; also, his two precious grandchildren, Dylan and Kennedy Kosienski. He is further survived by three sisters, Genevieve Wilkosz, Anna Oblinski, and JoAnn Kupniewski, all of Fairview; mother-in-law, Virginia Falkowski of Edinboro; three brothers-in-law, Vincent Ore of Erie, Tony Falkowski of Placentia, Calif., and Rick Falkowski and his wife Kathy of Waterford; two sisters-in-law, Audrey Kosienski of Waterford, and Cecelia Kosienski of McKean; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home, 306 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A prayer service will be held there Saturday morning at 10:15 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in McKean at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
