Shirley A. (Unger) King, age 74, died in the presence of family on Monday, May 14, 2012 at Forest View Nursing Home in Erie, Pa. The daughter of the late Baltas and Anna (Yeager) Unger, she was born in Erie on December 20, 1937 and resided there throughout her life. Shirley was a 1955 graduate of Mercyhurst Prep. She took great pride in being a stay at home mom supporting the endeavors of her children, including volunteering with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Shirley was quite creative, a talented seamstress and enjoyed playing the accordion, piano and guitar. For many years, she was active in the Summit Township government, serving as the township supervisor, auditor and working for the Sewer Authority. Shirley is survived by her husband of 54 years, William F. King. Other survivors include brother, B. Richard Unger (Sue) of Jarretsville, Md.; children, Lori Miller (Ted) of Ontario, N.Y., Sandra Kent (David) of Jefferson, Mass., Leslie King of Pittsford, N.Y., Lisa Pysher (Doug) of Woodbury, Minn. and Clark King (Kristen) of Erie, Pa.; eleven grandchildren, Brian, Kara (Carlton), John, Jessica, Michael, Zachary, Mitchell, Carter, Alaina, Spencer and Garret and one great grandson, Jackson. She is preceded in death by her sister, Josephine Unger. Friends and family may call on Friday at the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, Inc, 2502 Sassafras Street Erie, Pa. 16502 from 6-8 p.m. and are invited to the Funeral Mass on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. George Church, 5145 Peach St. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkinson Partners of NW PA, P.O.
