Vito C. "Shorty" Adiutori, age 93, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Erie Presbyterian Lodge, Elmwood Avenue. Born in Renovo, Pa. on December 3, 1918, he was a son of the late Anthony and Della (Polito) Adiutori. During WW II, he served with the Seabees in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the maintenance department of Firch and Strohemann Bakeries. Vito was a member of the former East Erie Turners, American Legion Post 571, and Erie Maennerchor Club. He enjoyed dancing and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ida Mikolejewski, Theresa Altadonna and Agnes Warneka, and a brother, Ernest Adiutori. Survivors include his wife, Pearl G. (Siler) Adiutori; a daughter, Celeste Raydo, husband Stephen, of Erie; a son, David Adiutori, wife Pam, of Beaver Falls, Pa.; two grandchildren, Christopher Raydo, wife Kristin, and Michelle Raydo; two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Elise; three sisters, Laura Corsi, Jean DeNofrio, both of Erie, and Eleanor Machado, of Williamsville, N.Y.; and a sister in law, Pat Adiutori of Kenmore, N.Y. and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard, Sunday from 2 until 7 p.m., and may attend a prayer service there Monday at 9:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Paul Church, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
