Frank J. Romecki, age 81, of Millcreek, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012 at UPMC Hamot. He was born in Erie on August 29, 1930, the son of the late Frank J. Romecki Sr. and Felice (Betty) Wierzchowski Romecki. He was a graduate of St. Stanislaus Elementary School, Cathedral Prep (1948) and Gannon University. He was Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Hammermill Paper Company for over 40 years, retiring as a Sales Manager. Frank was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Lake Shore Country Club, East Erie Turners, Sportsman's Athletic Club and Elks Lodge No. 67. He was an avid golfer and loved to travel including the winters spent in Naples, Florida. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Romecki Theisen. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy W. Romecki; his son-in-law Robert Theisen; his grandchildren Lindsay Theisen (Dionne) Drake and Robert F. Theisen; and his great-grandchildren Julian and Kobe Drake, all of Michigan. He is further survived by his brother Robert (Marian) Romecki, his sister Elizabeth Romecki and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street (at Powell Ave.) on Thursday June 14 from 3 to 7 p.m. and are invited to attend prayers at the funeral home on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 7100 West Ridge Rd., Fairview, PA 16415 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Scott Detisch officiating. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Mausoleum with full Military Honors.
