Charles L. Wurst, age 62, of Millcreek Twp., died Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospice House of Wexford, in Wexford, Pa. Born in Erie, January 27, 1950, he was a son of Irene (Sharie) Wurst and the late Earl Wurst. He was enlisted in the U.S. Navy and later started his 37 year career at G.E. Transportation as a locomotive tester, retiring in 2010. He loved and enjoyed being with his grandkids. He was an avid hockey fan and enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids play. He also enjoyed golfing and gardening. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Brenda Robertson and Janet Wurst. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Christine E. (Schoenman) Wurst, of Millcreek; two sons, Christopher Wurst, wife Jennifer, of Germany and Alan Wurst, of Harrisburg, Pa.; three daughters, Nichole Elliott, husband Tom, of Pickerington, Ohio, Sheri Calderone, husband Kevin, of Plainville, Mass. and Gretchen Wurst, Fiancé Jay Chretien, of Tewksbury, Mass.; four brothers, Earl, Thomas, Ron and David Wurst; 13 grandchildren also survive. Friends are invited to call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th St., at Greengarden Blvd., Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and to attend a service there Monday at 12 Noon, with Rev. Harry H. Johns III officiating. Interment will be private.
