Sherry Stewart Brechtel, age 60, left this earth on June 10, surrounded by her family and loved ones at Presque Isle Nursing and Rehab in Erie, Pa. She was born March 8, 1952, the daughter of Thomas and Betty Hulings Stewart, in her hometown of Kane. Sherry was a graduate of the class of 1970 from Kane High School. She had a loving and generous heart that embraced all those that she encountered, especially her family. She had passion for public service and served on the Johnsonburg School Board, led a cub scout pack with her husband, and was a member of the fire department ladies auxiliary. She was welcomed by her husband of 36 years Timothy Brechtel, her son Arthur Thomas Brechtel, her parents Thomas and Betty Stewart, her infant brother Terry Stewart, as well as various members and friends of the Brechtel and Stewart families. In her love remain her daughter Molly Brechtel, and her future son-in-law and adopted son, Darnell Stallworth, both of Erie. She also leaves her sister, Doris Neubert, and her husband, Leroy, of Wilcox, Pa.; a nephew, Jason Neubert, and his fiancé, Lacey Stanley, of Johnsonburg, Pa.; a niece, Jolene Cornelius, her husband, Frank, and their two daughters, of Dubois, Pa. Friends and loved ones are invited to attend a memorial service at the First United Methodist Church in Kane at 3 p.m. on Sunday. Interment will be beside her husband and son at Holy Cross Cemetery in Rasselas, Pa. Memorials may be made to Mary the Apostle Catholic Worker, 621 East 22nd, Erie, PA 16503.
