Evelyn D. Luciano, age 60, of Girard, died Sunday, June 17, 2012, at Fairview Manor following a lengthy illness. Born March 30, 1952, in Webster Springs, W.Va., she was a daughter of Oran O. and Joy Carpenter Cogar. Evelyn worked for over 20 years at Spectrum Control, Inc. in Fairview. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #494 in Girard and was an associate member of American Legion Post #742 in Fairview. Evelyn was also a member of the Edinboro-McKean VFW Post 740. She enjoyed growing flowers and flower arranging, as well as knitting. Evelyn loved to cook for her family and friends. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Russell Luciano who died in 1996. She is survived by her mother Joy Cogar of Webster Springs, W.Va.; her father Oran Cogor, living with his daughter in Madisonville, Tenn.; a daughter, Christine Skidmore of Girard, a son, Andrew Simkovitch of Girard; five sisters: Patty Duke of Carrol County Maryland, Margaret Jordan of Madisonville, Tenn., Wilma Taylor and her husband Michael of Charleston, W.Va., Elizabeth Boyd and her husband Ronald of Accomac, Va. and Gloria Cogar of Webster Springs, W.Va.; and a brother, Oran O. Cogar, Jr. and his wife Rosemary also of Webster Springs, W.Va. Evelyn is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
