Conneaut Judith Anne "Judy" Whitford, 68, of Burrington Heights passed away at her home, Friday, June 29, 2012 surrounded by her loving husband and children. She was born October 26, 1943 in Erie, Pa., the daughter of the late Edward and Marie E. (Schultz) Dunlap and had been a Conneaut resident since 1983. A loving wife and mother, Judy worked at various plastics factories including Helphins Plastics in Erie, Pa., Springfield Plastics in Springfield, Pa., and Wayne Dalton Plastics in Conneaut prior to her retirement in 2005. She enjoyed reading, puzzle books, gardening, ceramics, and her extensive collection of movies. She was also an extensive collector of Elvis memorabilia and mice. Her survivors include her husband, Duane H. Whitford, whom she married December 30, 1982; three children, Gene Turner and Cheri (Wayne) Howard, both of Erie, Pa. and Shawn (Chris) Mackey of Conneaut; her husband's children whom she thought of as her own, Bruce (Rose) Whitford, John (Kim) Whitford, and Sharon (Ken) Merchant, all of the Erie, Pa. area; a sister, Marie E. Graham of Erie, Pa.; several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and a lifelong friend, Charlotte Hague and her husband Mike. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Rosella Nicosia, Mabel Jean "Jeanie" Smyers, and Kathryn Thompson. No calling hours will be held and no funeral services will take place at this time per Judy's request.
