Anabel Zimmer, age 88, resident of Edinboro Manor, Edinboro, Pa. for the past five years and formerly of Washington Township, Erie County, Pa. died at Saint Vincent Health Center, Erie, Pa. on Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Born on December 7, 1923 in Washington Township, Anabel was a daughter of the late Walter Burger and Ora Lee Wykoff Burger. On May 24, 1943 she married James Henry Zimmer and he preceded her in death on April 7, 1994. Anabel was a home maker, but also was self employed as a seamstress. In the late 1960's she worked at Edinboro House of Furniture and also did altering work at Malec's Clothing Store in Edinboro. She was a member of Washingtion Valley Christian Church. Surviving Anabel is a daughter -Elaine Klie and her husband, Dave of Waterford and two sons - Richard Zimmer and his wife, Ann of Erie, and Gary Zimmer and his wife, Jane of Edinboro. She has eight grandchildren - Tony Klie, Bonnie Staley, Rod Klie, Rick Zimmer, Jerry Zimmer,and Dan Zimmer, Jill Shanley, and Ted Zimmer. Included among survivors is a sister - Doretta Beason of Edinboro. In addition to her husband, Anabel was preceded in death by three brothers - Edward Walter Burger, Ralph Burger and Clifford Burger and two sisters - Delphine Hurd and Isabelle Reitz. Friends may call at the Van Matre Family Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Monday from 2-4 and from 6-8 p.m. At 8:00 p.m. funeral services will begin with Reverend Duane Pinney, pastor of Washington Valley Christian Church, officiating.
