Joan A. White Baker, age 78, of North East, died Sunday July 1, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Buffalo, N.Y. on October 11, 1933 to the late Harrison and Norma Anderson White. She was formerly employed at O'Neil's Restaurant as a bookkeeper for 20 years until retirement and was also a caregiver in the North East area. Joan was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in North East and belonged to several coin collecting clubs. She loved quilting, knitting and her cat, Blue. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Orin E. Baker; sisters, Margaret Burge and Beverly Leamer. Joan is survived by her friend, Kenneth Page of North East; daughters, Pamela Lidlow of Dunkirk, Cathy Hanson of Westfield, Cheryl Farnham (James) of Sherman, Belinda Rudenski (Richard) of Clymer, Cindy Seiter (Scott) of Jacksonville, Fla., Lori Byers (John) of Corry, Alison Bollinger (Jeffery) of Westfield; sister, Shirley Myrus of Syracuse; brothers, Roger White of Michigan and David White of Canada; brother-in-law, Rev. James Burge of Ohio; 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family by the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East. Private interment North East Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 1500 Freeport Road or McCord Memorial Library, 32 West Main Street, North East, PA 16428.
