Ralph P. Annunziata, age 86, of Erie, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012 after a brief illness at Saint Mary's Home of Erie. He was born May 14, 1926, in Erie, a son of the late Michael and Carmella Montagno Annunziata. He lived in Erie his entire life. He served in the United States Navy during World War II in the North Atlantic Theatre and was an extremely proud veteran. He along with his brother John owned and operated Nunzi's Restaurant. Ralph was an ardent sports fan and sponsored many sporting teams of all ages. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing with his sons. He organized many sports excursions and had been an active member of many social clubs. He enjoyed gardening, carpentry and was a true handyman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Panceroff Annunziata, a son-in-law, J. Dave Mountain, and one brother, John Annunziata. He is survived by his daughter, Lori J. Mountain of Erie; three sons, Ralph M. Annunziata of Chicago, Ill., Mark S. Annunziata and wife Heather and Jeffrey J. Annunziata and wife Mary Ann both of Erie; one brother, Michael Annunziata of St. Louis, Mo. and two sisters, Teresa Schade of Erie and Donna Mendenhall of Fla. He is also survived by six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. and may attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1531 East Grandview Blvd., at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
