Joyce LaRue Taylor Kerns, age 65, of Erie, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012 at Abington Crest Nursing Center. She was born June 15, 1947 in Pittsburgh, Pa., daughter of the late Benjamin and Helen Hetrick Taylor. Joyce enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Curly Jack Kerns; two sons, Jerry Lee Sweet and James Lloyd Sweet; her daughter, Judy Lynn Sweet; two stepsons, Michael P. Sweet and Timothy E. Sweet; nine grandchildren; one sister, Dian Golden; one brother, Ben Taylor; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her son, Jay L. Sweet; sisters, Ruth McWilliams, Novella Jones and Doris Roebuck; and brother, Robert T. Taylor. No calling hours will be held.
