Gordon L. Baldwin, age 58, of Erie passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012 at UPMC Hamot. He was born August 10, 1953 in Corry the son of Ruth Hamilton Pence and the late Vernon Baldwin. A lifelong resident of Erie, Gordon was a 1971 graduate of Strong Vincent High School and had worked as a driver for several local businesses. He also enjoyed following NASCAR and spending time with his family and friends. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Alice Baldwin and a brother, Glenn Baldwin. Along with his mother Ruth, Gordon is survived by a daughter, Shannon Baldwin and her husband, Joshua Brumley of Waldorf, Md.; a son, Corey Baldwin of Plain City, Ohio; two sisters, Julie Baldwin of Erie and Gloria Baldwin of Wash.; two brothers, James Baldwin and his wife, Rebecca of Erie and Greg Baldwin and his wife, Penny of Wash., along with a sister-in-law, Paula Baldwin of Wash. He is also survived by a stepfather, Alan Pence of Fla. and his dear friend and former wife, Terri Baldwin of Erie. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call at the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St. Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Private burial will be in Erie Cemetery.
