Lawrence "Glenn" Elder, 88, of Union City, died August 25, 2012, at his residence. Born June 22, 1924, in Waverly, W. Va., he was the son of the late Wilson and Esta (Lowther) Elder and the husband of Betty (Fisher) Elder. Glenn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Union City and worked as a machinist for Kaiser Aluminum. In addition to his beloved wife, survivors include daughters, Lisa Rose and husband, Paul, of Erie, Debra Andersen and husband, Russell, of Vero Beach, Fla., and Judy Griner and husband, Robert, of Morgantown, N.C.; a son, Tom Elder and wife, Darlene, of Union City; a brother, Warren Elder and wife, Nell, of Victoria, Texas; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Glenn was preceded in death by sisters, Ellen Vecchio and Alice Apple and brothers, Blaine Elder and Durward Elder. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Morgan-Pandolph Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Union City. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday with Rev. Robert Weaver officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
