Rafael M. Montes, 73, of Girard, passed away, Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the St. Vincent Health Center after a short illness. He was born in Patillas, Puerto Rico on December 18, 1938, son of the later Petronilla.. He is survived by his companion of 32 years, Rebecca Jenkins of Girard. He is further survived by his mother and father-in-law, Price and Cathy Jenkins, brothers-in-law, Gary Jenkins (Janet) and Charles Jenkins (Roberta), nieces, Christy and Samantha, nephew, Jameson. His passion in life was flowers and anything growing, having worked at Fairview Nursery for many years. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. Friends may call at the Merle E. Wood Funeral Home, Inc., 215 West 25th St. on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at the Funeral Home at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Jody Irwin officiating.
