William Hammer Sr., age 74, of Millcreek, went home with the Lord on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at his residence following an illness. He was born in Erie on September 9, 1938, son of the late George F. and Bessie Hammer. Bill was employed at Fenestra, and then drove bus for the Millcreek School District. He was a member of First Alliance Church, and enjoyed hunting and football, especially the Oakland Raiders. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Judith C. Hammer; one daughter, Heidi Bustillo (Alex); three sons, B.J. Hammer (Stephanie), Brian Hammer (Melissa) and Jeff Hammer (Jennifer); one brother, Gene Hammer (Roseann); one sister, Jeanette Piccirillo; seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Chloe, Layne, Jeffrey, Holly, Melissa and Alicia, and one soon to be born; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Donn Hammer, and two brothers, George and Richard Hammer. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at First Alliance Church, on Saturday at 4 p.m. conducted by Rev. Keith Draa.
