Pauline Ponchak Oros, age 82, of Erie and formerly of Estero, Fla., died on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at St. Mary's at Asbury Ridge. She was born on October 13, 1929 in Alicia, Pa., the daughter of the late Sandor and Mary Dancak Ponchak. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Alex, Robert, Joseph, Steve, Emil, and Edward Ponchak and an infant daughter. She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Joseph A. Oros; two sons, Richard Oros and his wife Judy, and Timothy Oros and his wife Ann, both of Erie; and two daughters, Cheryl Oros and her partner Delores Risinger of Mineral, Va., and Sandy Dieter and her husband Mike of Erie, Pa. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Michael, Paul, Mary, Steve and Chris Oros, Gabe (Katie) Oros, Jason (Elizabeth) Oros, Bethany (Charlie) Lewis, Kris (Kori) Oros, Andrew Malone and Holden Dieter; and four great-grandchildren, Anna and Jake Oros, Will Lewis and Zachary Scott. Pauline is further survived by her loving sister, Marge Phoebe, a brother Joseph Ponchak, and several sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Pauline enjoyed camping with the Goophy Gulchers, exploring the world through her computer, casino trips, and spending time with her beloved family. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Funeral Mass at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 2801 West Sixth Street, on Saturday at 9 a.m. with The Very Reverend John J. Detisch V.F. presiding. Burial will be private. The family would like to thank all the nurses and aides at St. Mary's at Asbury Ridge, Hospice, and her physician Dr. William Swanson for their loving care during her illness.
