Charles P. Ventrello, age 100, of Erie passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012 at St. Vincent Health Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 1,1912 in Delta, Colo. the son of the late Giacomo and Orsula Cardy Ventrello. A longtime Erie resident, he was a former employee of Griswold Manufacturing, Cohen Auto Parts and he later retired from Erie Industrial Trucks. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Zukor club, and the Knights of St. John. Charles also enjoyed bowling and fishing. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Mary Risignola Ventrello who died on Sept.23,2011 along with a sister, Filomena Rocco and 6 brothers; Augustine, Ross, James, Michael, Frank, and Carl Ventrello. Charles is survived by three sons; Charles Ventrello and his wife Elizabeth of Erie; Robert Ventrello and his wife Barbara of Cresco, Pa. and Gerald Ventrello and his wife Jan of Erie. He is the grandfather of Michael, David, Stephen, Philip, Diane and Teo Ventrello. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren and a brother, Jake Ventrello and his wife Cathy of San Francisco, Calif. Friends are invited to call at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 816 West 26th St. Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon at which time a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
