Ronald L. Dittman, age 85, of Erie, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Twinbrook Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born in Clarion, Pa. on December 1, 1926, the son of the late Frank and Gladys Dittman and stepmother, Suzanne Dittman. He was employed at Buck Ackerman and Tony Palumbo Plastering. He enjoyed farming and playing guitar. Ron was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, Virginia Seibold Dittman, in 1979, two brothers; Bernard and Roy Dittman, one sister, Betty, and one son-in-law, Rod Harrison. He is survived by two sons; Ronald C. Dittman (Betty) of Erie, Carl D. Dittman (Mary) of Erie, one daughter, Florence Harrison, of Salem, Ore., three brothers: Mike Dittman (Heather), Jim DeLaney (Mary Lou), Bob Dittman, five grandchildren: Tommy, Kelly, Tonya, Carl, Jennifer, five great-grandchildren: Jayden, Jourdynn, Haley, Shania, Deanna, one great-great-grandchild, Kaleena, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may attend a Memorial Service conducted by the Rev. Clifton McNair and Michael Dittman, on Friday, October 12, 2012, at World of Life Christian Center, 660 Hess Ave. at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd., Erie, PA 16506.
