Anthony C. "Chester" Korytowski, 89 of Erie died Wednesday October 10, 2012 at St. Vincent Health Center. He was born in Lipno, Poland July 5, 1923 son of the late Teofil and Anna Gutman Korytowski. Chester served in the Polish Army during World War II, and was captured and held as a POW in Germany. He retired from Erie Castings after 25 years of service. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church, and the Polish Army Vets Club. He enjoyed playing his accordion, and conversing with friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his wife Genevieve Archacki Korytowski, and his brother Alois Korytowski. Survivors include his daughter Alicia Lombardozzi and husband Dr. John, sons Richard Korytowski, and Edward Korytowski and wife Dedrea, grandchildren Jeffrey, Matthew, Sara, and Lindsey Korytowski, and Aire and Lance Lombardozzi, and great grandchildren, Cameron and Samantha Korytowski. Friends may call at the Carl A. Slomski & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2101 Ash St., Sunday 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and may attend a service there Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
