Rita M. Marshall, age 93, of Erie, died at the Ball Pavilion at Brevillier Village, Thursday, October 11, 2012. Born in Erie, August 13, 1919, she was the daughter of the late James and Anna (Lyons) Kerley. Rita received her RN from Charity Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio and was a nurse at Hamot and St. Vincent Hospitals and also in Private Duty. She was an Oblate of Mount St. Benedict and a member of a bible study group and the Funtastics at St. Luke Catholic Church. She enjoyed Scouts with her children and "special days" with her grandchildren. Rita also enjoyed painting and reading. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert J. Marshall; two infant sons; two brothers, Jame Kerley, wife Mary, and Thomas Kerley, wife Doris; two grandsons, Stephen Marshall and Kevin Hardy. Survivors include nine children, Sr. Annette Marshall, OSB, of Erie, Bob Marshall, wife Sue, of Chicago, Ill., Kathy Pederson, husband Steve, of Streamwood, Ill., Ken Marshall, wife Pat, of Erie, Joe Marshall, wife Doris, of Wattsburg, Pa., Tom Marshall, wife Chris, of Naperville, Ill., Mary Lou Chimenti, husband Jim, of Lakewood, N.Y., Jane Kerr, husband Jim, of Ankeny, Iowa and Connie Hardy, husband Steve, of Archer, Fla.; 23 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 845 E. 38th St., Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. and at Mount St. Benedict Monastery, 6101 East Lake Rd., on Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the Funeral Mass there at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
