John J. Jordano, age 90, of Erie, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 at UPMC Hamot. He was born February 10, 1922, in Erie, the son of the late Dominic and Filomena Berarducci Jordano. John was a lifelong resident of Erie and had served with the US Army during WWII. He had worked at Marx Toys until its closing, and was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Jordano; a son, John Jordano, Jr.; 3 brothers, Thomas, Nicholas and Angelo Jordano and 3 sisters, Betty Ditesch, Marian Perkowski, and Louise Petrone. John is survived by a son, Alan Jordano and his wife Peggy of Erie, along with many nieces and nephews. Per his request, there will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Monday at 10:00 a.m., in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Burial, with military honors, will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or to the Erie Humane Society, 2707 Interchange Rd., Erie, PA 16509.
