Patricia A. Stark "Patty" Miller Obituary
Patricia A. "Patty" Stark Miller, age 68, of Harborcreek, went to be with her Savior on Sunday, November 25, 2012. She was born in Erie on August 16, 1944, daughter of the late Lawrence and Ann Stark. Patty was a 1962 graduate of Harbor Creek High School and a 1966 graduate of Edinboro University. She started her teaching career in 1966 until the birth of her first child in 1970. She then returned to teaching science and chemistry for 24 years at Iroquois High School, retiring in 2002. Patty was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where she currently served on the SPR Committee. For many years she volunteered with the Vacation Bible School, taught Sunday School, and lead Bible studies. Patty was also a member of Koinonia of Erie County K34. She loved doing crafts, sewing, reading and especially studying the word of the Lord. With her family she enjoyed traveling, camping, walking and bike riding. Patty is survived by her husband of 45 years, Glenn Miller; one son, Chris Miller (Laurie) of Ballston Lake, N.Y.; one daughter, Ellen Miller of Harborcreek; one sister, Diane Hedderick (Jim) of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Rachel, Rebekah and Nathaniel; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Belan. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Further visitation will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church, corner of Station Rd. and South St. on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. Pamela Gardner. Interment, Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 3308 South St., Erie, PA 16510.
