Robert W. Lansberry, 71, fought a short yet courageous battle with cancer. He died peacefully surrounded by family, January 6, 2013 at St. Vincent Health Center. He was born in Corry on March 8, 1941 son of the late Helen and Jerry Lansberry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson, G. Adam Bowser. Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Joyce Burdick Lansberry and one son, Scott Lansberry (Becky) of Erie. He is also survived by two brothers, Roger Lansberry (Jan) from Phoenix, Ariz., Richard Lansberry (Carole) from Erie, and a sister, Janet Eveland (partner Dawn) from Columbia, Maryland; and many nieces and nephews. Bob graduated from Academy High School and received his Masters' plus from Edinboro University. He worked for the Erie School District in many different roles for over 30 years. He belonged to the Presque Isle Yacht Club for 35 years, and many social clubs. He was a classic car enthusiast and his friends meant the world to him. Friends may call at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Blvd. on Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday at 11 a.m. at Glenwood United Methodist Church, 2931 Myrtle Street in Erie, with Pastor Pat Lenox officiating.
