Hazel Helen Hogue Wakley, age 86, lifetime resident of North East died on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at home. She was born on July 21, 1926 in North East, Pa. daughter of the late Robert and Dora McCray Hogue. She graduated North East High School Class of 1944 and in 1972 became the founder & owner of Wakley Escort, Inc. which escorted wide over-sized loads in 46 of the 50 states. Hazel was a member of the Park United Methodist Church and the North East Woman's Roundtable. She enjoyed working, playing cards, puzzles, attending grandkids ball games, and traveling all over the United States and other countries including Ireland & Hawaii. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, Robert Hogue, Jr., Louis Hogue, & twin brother, Howard Hogue; former husband, Stanley Wakley; daughter, Nanci Wakley Allen Miller; son, William Howard Wakley. She is survived by a sister, Vetris Hogue Lamb of North East; brother, Ward Hogue (June) of Burleston, Texas; children, Marjorie Dora Wakley (Victor Pickett) of Mesa, Ariz., Raymond Stanley Wakley (Carol) of North East, Jeffrey Lee Wakley (fiancé Elaine Magee) of North East; grandchildren, Robert Allen (Patty), Jamie Allen, Sara Orndoff (Jared), Nichole Barkman, Rebecca Wakley, Christopher Wakley, Morgan Wakley, Brittany Wakley, Aaron Wakley, Scott Magee, Sarah Wakley; daughters-in-law, Candy Wakley and Mary Wakley; 15 great-grandchildren, ten nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews; also special caregivers, Candy, Phyllis, Tracy & Brittany. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and are invited to attend a funeral service on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating Rev.
