Thomas J. Faber, age 86, of Millcreek Twp. passed away Friday, February 1, 2013 at St. Vincent Health Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Erie on September 22, 1926, the son of the late Joseph and Margaret Geary Faber. Tom was a 1944 graduate of Strong Vincent High School, had attended Gannon University, and then worked at Erie's General Electric for 10 years. His next ambition and passion was to run his own insurance agency, Thomas Faber Insurance, which he successfully did for over 45 years, retiring in 2005. He was a founding member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church. Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting, and loved training his dogs. He was known as "Crow Faber" to his fellow outdoorsmen. He was a member of SONS of Lake Erie, the Millcreek Sertoma Club, Siebenbuerger Club, and the Sportsmen's Athletic Club. His great pleasure was spending time with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren and many dear friends. His day never started without a meet and greet and a pinwheel at H & K Donuts. Tom is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rosemarie Hosbach Faber; three children, Sue Faber, Tom Faber and his wife Kathy, and Molly McVey, all of Erie. Two grandchildren, Kelsey Faber of Tucson, Ariz. and T.J. Faber of Erie and their mother, Diane Faber also of Erie. Two step-grandchildren, Megan Ott of Westerville, Ohio and Lauren Ott of Erie along with an" honorary" family uncle, Dr. Paul Wetzel of Waterford. Tom's family wishes to extend their appreciation and gratitude to the St. Vincent Health Center Staff and Nurses on 2N and a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Cocco, his staff, and Dr. Weissbach. They would also like to thank the nursing staff and therapists at Millcreek Community Hospital TCU for their loving care and dedication. God's blessing to all. A private Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for the immediate family on Tuesday at St. Jude Catholic Church followed by entombment in Calvary Mausoleum.
