Thomas W. Balos, 63, of Erie, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at UPMC Hamot. He was born July 1, 1949, in Erie, Pa. son of the late Emil and Stella Stanek Balos. He was the former owner of Camp Communications. He was a graduate of East High School and also attended E.I.T. He has a hand held Radio License. He enjoyed spending time at camp. Survivors include his wife Karen Szkoda Balos, two sons, Thomas J. Balos, Timothy Balos, a daughter, Tiffany Montroy (David-Paul), two granddaughters, Emilia Balos and Alexus Tabb all of Erie. Also survived by two brothers, William Balos of Erie, Jerry Balos of Encinitas, Calif., a sister, Marie Manendo of Las Vegas, Nev., and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends may call at the Edward J. Garr Funeral Home, Inc., 459 East 12th Street, Erie, PA 16503 on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 315 East Ninth Street on Saturday, February 23, 2013.
