Robert Samuel Spangler, Sr., 68, of Bruceton Mills (Cuzzart community), W.Va., died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Forbes Hospice in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. The son of the late Raymond C. and Josephine Hoffman Spangler, he was born November 12, 1944, in Sharon, Pa. Robert is a Veteran of the United States Navy MCB40. He was a past Master of the Masonic Lodge 234, a member of the Scottish Rite Lodge 32, Kingwood VFW Post 826, and the American Legion, and was past president of the Iron Workers Local 348 and the North Preston Senior Center. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, golfing, water and snow skiing, and was a loving family man. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Dout Spangler; a son, Dr. Robert Spangler, Jr., of Bruceton Mills; a sister, Erma Spangler, of Washington; two sisters-in-law: Myra Spangler of West Middlsex, Pa., and Dorothy Stefanak of Hermitage, Pa.; several nieces and nephews; and several grand nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Spangler, and a sister, Elsie Spangler. Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, Friday from 6-8 p.m., and Saturday, March 9, 2013, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service in the funeral home, with Pastor Barry M.
