Ethel Gae Ryen Amatangelo, age 85, resident of Elmwood Gardens, formerly of West 21st Street, died Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Elmwood Gardens. She was born June 6, 1927 in Gipsy, Pa., a daughter of the late Emery and Hazel Buchanan Ryen. She worked at The Boston Store, Marx Toys and Sterling Factories, retiring in 1991. She enjoyed caring for her family and home. She loved her grandchildren and took a special interest in them. She was one of the last potential heirs of the supposed $850,000,000.00 Buchanan Estate. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Marco "Mike" Amatangelo and three brothers, Harry Ryen, Charles "Chuck" Ryen and Walter "Pete" Ryen. She is survived by her two sons, Anthony Amatangelo and wife Mary and Mark Amatangelo, both of Erie; one brother, Robert Ryen and wife Norma Jean of Fairview; one sister, Eleanor Peterson of Sheffield, Pa. and three grandchildren, Jennifer Still and husband Matthew, Mark Amatangelo, and Aaron Amatangelo. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Cameron, Matthew and Kody and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and may attend a Funeral Service there on Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
